Pine trees are found throughout the US. There are numerous types of pine trees that can produce furniture grade lumber. Lumber from pine trees is the most widely available and regulated type of lumber currently available. Pine is a softwood that absorbs water readily and splits easily. Our pine lumber is pressure treated before and after being kiln dried. Pine is not as hard or decay/insect resistant as cedar or redwood but is less expensive. The pressure treated pine is ideal for painting.
- Does not warp or bend - the lumber used in our pine furniture is treated to resist warping and bending.
- Resists decay, disease and rotting - The pressure treating process makes the pine very decay and insect resistant.
- Treated pine is ideal for painting. The treated pine does not absorb water and therefore the grain will not raise as other
pine furniture.
- Pine as a familiar yellow and brown color
- Changes color to a silver grey over time
